Join the resident swaggie for Billy Tea and Damper round the campfire. On a clear night, it's a great time for star gazing too. You'll also have Kangaroos eating out of your hand. Then enjoy great Aussie live entertainment and more refreshments.

Kuranda, Gold Class Rail, Skyrail and Hartleys Crocodile Adventures

Your day beings with a luxury coach transfer from your accommodation to Freshwater Railway Station for a historical rail journey to Kuranda. Enjoy breathtaking views enroute, including the cane fields of Cairns to the tropical rainforest of Kuranda.

Upon arrival in Kuranda, there is limited free time before boarding Skyrail at 11.30am. Relax & enjoy the world’s most beautiful rainforest experience, stopping enroute to explore the two stations, including boardwalks & the CSIRO Interpretive Centre.

After arriving at Caravonica Lakes, our coach will collect you & transfer you to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures – the best place to see crocodiles in Tropical North Queensland. Join us for a unique eco experience on the lagoon cruise through the ecologically significant Melaleuca wetlands; the domain of the saltwater crocodile.

Explore the rest of the park with its abundance of wildlife, including water birds, turtles, wallabies and cassowaries.

See the notorious head shake and death roll of a huge crocodile at the Crocodile Attack Show and the opportunity to hold a crocodile for a photo (own expense). Discover the world’s most venomous snakes at the Snake Show before the return transfer to your accommodation.

Cape Tribulation, Daintree, Mossman                        

Explore the rainforest and amazing landscapes of the Cape Tribulation wilderness area. You will cross the Daintree River and continue on to the Daintree Environmental Centre for a refreshing morning tea.

Continue on to Cape Tribulation Beach where you will learn about the rich history of the area. Walk the beach or boardwalk.

Relax and enjoy the delicious food, and maybe a glass of wine. Return to the Daintree River, with a stop to enjoy the panoramic view from Alexandra Lookout.  Re-crossing the river, join a calm water cruise of this important waterway observing the wildlife. Your guide will point out the different types of wildlife and plants that make their home along the river. Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive and fearsome estuarine saltwater crocodile! The cruise ends in Daintree Village, where you will board your coach for the return journey to Cairns, stopping at beautiful Mossman Gorge.

Evening Tour – Flames of the Forest                                      

You will be picked up from your hotel and escorted to a secluded area in the rainforest. Once you arrive, you will walk along a candle lit path and greeted with wine and hors d'oeuvres. You will then be welcomed by a small Aboriginal performance and led to where you will be dining under a canopy surrounded by hundreds of candles and a river running past the site. After dinner, there will be an aboriginal story told and interpreted by the Aboriginal Dreamtime group. Before you leave, you will have a chance to sign your name in the Book of Trees and generate the planting of one tree in Australia on your behalf.

Only Quicksilver takes you to Agincourt ribbon reef, at the very outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef for your personal reef discovery.  Travel to the Outer reef platform with undercover seating, showers and change rooms.  Ideal for both snorkellers and non-swimmers seeking the widest choice of reef experiences including an underwater observatory and semi-submersible. All snorkelling equipment is provided.

Arrive Hamilton Island

Your luggage will be taken directly to your room by a Reef View Hotel porter so please have a day-pack with anything you will need for the morning.

You will immediately be given Golf carts (called “buggies” by locals). These will be your form of transports for the next couple of days. 

After a very brief tour of the Island, you will be taken to One Tree Hill to embark on your first task: A Buggy Rally with a Difference.

A site inspection will be incorporated within the Buggy Rally and full details will be explained on the day.

Please meet at the Pool Terrace Restaurant for a bite to eat before checking into your rooms.

 

2:00pm

The next couple of hours will be yours to enjoy at leisure … or not … as you will receive an activity voucher. Your second task will be to enjoy your preferred activity and make sure at least one team member has a camera; a reward will be given for the most creative “active” image.

 

4:15pm

Please meet at the front of the Reef View Hotel for your transfer down to Hamilton Island’s marina in preparation for your Banjo Paterson Twilight Sail.

 

4:30pm

Banjo Paterson Twilight Sail: Enjoy a beautiful sunset aboard the luxuriously appointed 18-meter Yacht Banjo Paterson.

 

6:30pm

Make the most of a tropical Whitsunday evening gliding through the sheltered waters off Hamilton Island under sail. Sip a chilled glass of champagne and watch the evening sky transform before your eyes.

After a busy day please make your way directly to Romano’s, Hamilton Island’s Italian Restaurant for an early dinner.

Tuesday, September 25th

‘Breakfast with the Koalas’ features a delicious Australian buffet served in open natural surroundings overlooking koalas in their natural habitat.  

After breakfast you will have time to explore the Wildlife sanctuary; this contains many native Australian animals such as wombats, kangaroos, echidnas and even crocodiles.

Please meet at One Tree Hill, for a site inspection of Hamilton Island’s new luxury property Qualia.

 

12:30pm

Please make your way down to the Fantasea Jetty at Hamilton Island’s Marina in preparation for Fantasea Cruises Whitehaven Beach Tour.

Additional recommendations:
Don’t forget sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and towel.

 

1:00pm – 4.30pm

Fantasea Cruises half-day Whitehaven Beach Tour

Enjoy the 35 minute ride on Fantasea’s high speed Catamaran to beautiful Whitehaven Beach.  A sumptuous buffet lunch is served as you take in the beautiful scenery of the Whitsunday Islands. 

Whitehaven Beach boasts five miles of pure white silica sand contrasting with the clear blue waters and densely foliated bush land of this island paradise. Beach activities are organized by the Fantasea crew and include beach cricket, touch football and volleyball.

 

4:30pm

Return to Hamilton Island. Please make your own way back to the Reef View Hotel where you will have time to relax & freshen up before dinner. We recommend a detour past “One-Tree Hill”; to experience a cocktail or two as you watch the sunset. This is the best place to watch a spectacular Whitsunday Sunset.

 

7:00pm

Please meet in the foyer of the Reef View Hotel before making your way to the Beach House for dinner. The Beach House is Hamilton Island’s signature restaurant.

Wednesday, September 26th

6:00am

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at either the Pool Terrace Restaurant located at the bottom of the Reef View Hotel, open from 6:00am, or Toucan Tango Café located in the main resort centre, open from 7:00am.         

After breakfast, please check-out of your room and return your key. Leave your luggage inside your room by the door; porters will collect your bags and deliver them to the airport.
